Around 1999 addictive taste of chilli found its way into a tiny kitchen in Noordhoek, Cape Town – and The Mystic Chilli took root.
Created and produced by nutritionist and food economist Barbara Jennings, and marketing manager Benson Arendse, the Mystic Chilli range has grown from chilli jam to chilli “everything”.
The Mystic Chilli team selects only the best available ingredients, and make use of organic wherever possible.
Until recently, people in Cape Town have been the only ones able to purchase Mystic Chilli products. This is about to change – so please start bugging your local deli!
The Mystic Chilli is not only about heat. It’s about flavour: roasted tomatoes, cumin, chillies and fresh coriander in our Coriander Chilli Chutney; sweet red peppers, ginger and chilli in the Red Pepper Chilli Jam; caramelized onions, balsamic vinegar and cumin in our Onion Marmalade (yes – no chilli!). The only product that comes with a heat warning is the “Ring of Fire” Habanero Chilli Sauce. Habanero chillies score a 10/10 for heat! You have been warned.
Our products are absolutely free of preservatives and need to be refrigerated once opened.
Shelf life: unopened up to 6 months and once opened, 3 months.
